Location: Goodrick College, Langwith College, and Constantine College, University of York

Overview: On behalf of The University of York and SPV Partner we manage three sites which encompass student residences, academic spaces, and social areas.

Management Transition: In 2012, Derwent FM assumed responsibility for these sites which included;

  • Taking over 588 existing student residences at Goodricke College.
  • Overseeing the construction and mobilization of 650 units at Langwith College.
  • Managing an additional 621 bedrooms at Constantine College.

Services

  • Student Property Management: Derwent FM manages both hard and soft facilities across the three sites, ensuring efficient operation of residential and academic spaces.
  • Build and Mobilisation: Our team facilitated construction and mobilisation, addressing challenges and establishing compliance procedures from the outset.
  • Dedicated on site team: A dedicated on-site team ensures responsive service, promptly addressing requests for assistance.
  • Interactive help desk: The introduction of an interactive Helpdesk/CAFM system allows students to log and track faults online. Post-completion, a customer satisfaction survey is automatically recorded so we are able continuously adapt and add value to our services based on feedback.

Sustainability on Site

  • Sustainability Initiatives: Within the sites are energy-efficient lighting, automatic controls, and effective building insulation. All of which contribute to sustainability, reducing the carbon footprint and waste in the local area.

Student Wellbeing

We foster student wellbeing through collaboration, we do so by;

  • Student Guild: Representatives of the Student Guild are invited to attend six-monthly trustee meetings to provide high-level feedback.
  • University accommodation team: We work closely with the university accommodation team having regular discussions to ensure we maintain standards and satisfaction levels.
